How to Check Your Contractor

Don't sign a contract unless that contractor checks out with you in all areas. Lincoln can answer YES to All of the following questions.

Warranties

  • Is the Product warranty in writing?
  • Is the Labor warranty in writing?
  • Are labor warranty claims handled locally?
  • Will your product/labor warranty claims be handled by the same contractor who sold the job?
  • Does the contractor offer a brand of products with an industry wide reputation for quality?

Reputation

  • Does the contractor you are considering have a history of dependable service?
  • Will the contractor be in business throughout the life of the product?
  • Was the Contractor you are considering in business 10 years ago?

Protection

  • Does the contractor provide public liability protection?
  • Does the contractor provide protection against property damage?
  • Does the Contractor provide trained service technicians and authorized materials for repair?
  • Does the contractor offer no down payment and no payment before the job is complete?
  • Will the contractor meet all local and city ordinances?
  • Will the contractor provide financing for the materials and labor required to complete the job?
  • Will the contractor offer a service agreement covering all labor materials?
  • Will the contractor cover WCB, protecting you from liability if a laborer is injured on your property during installation?
  • Will your contractor provide a written estimate?
  • Is the contractor fully Insured, Licensed, Bonded and willing to show you credentials if required?
  • Will the contractor guarantee that only top-quality materials will be installed by fully trained, licensed and trustworthy installers?
